اعضای کانون طرح شهر با شادی فراوان و افتخار برای نودمین سالگرد تولد داریوش بوربور معمار، شهرساز، هنرمند و ایرانشناس در کنار ایشان بودند و تولد ایشان را جشن گرفتند.
داریوش بوربور شصت سال پیش مهندسین مشاور بوربور را به عنوان اولین مشاور شهرسازی و مشاور تراز اول معماری در ایران تاسیس کرد و فصلی نو در معماری و شهرسازی آغاز کرد. سی سال پیش با هزینه شخصی، پژوهشکده و کتابخانه مطالعات ایرانشناسی را به صورت موسسه خصوصی مستقل، غیر سیاسی و غیردولتی و با تأکید خاص بر تحقیقات در رشته‌های بکر و نو، بنیانگذاری نمود.
از داریوش بوربور به عنوان پدر شهرسازی نوین ایران یاد میشود که طرح کالبدی اجرا نشده پهنه حرم حضرت رضا در مشهد از برجسته‌ترین طرح‌های شهری ارائه شده توسط مهندسین مشاور بوربور است، طرح‌های توسعه شهری و منطقه‌ای که توسط این مهندسین مشاور در اواسط قرن بیستم ارائه شده است همچنان از پیشتازانه‌ترین طرح‌های جامع ایران محسوب میشود که به عنوان تجارب شهرسازی ایران در دانشگاه‌ها موضوع آموزش و پژوهش است.
بنیان‌گذار کانون طرح شهر، شهباز غفوری که افتخار شاگردی داریوش بوربور را داشته است، به همراه سایر اعضای کانون طرح شهر آرزوی عمر طولانی و موفقیت های بیشتر را برای این استاد گرانقدر و افتخار جامعه حرفه ای و علمی را دارند.
Representatives of the Urban Planning Centre joyfully and proudly participated in the 90th birthday celebrations of Professor Dariush Borbor, architect, city planner, artist and Iranologist.
Sixty years ago, he founded the Borbor Consulting Architects, Engineers and City Planners, being the first officially recognized Urban Planning firm by the Plan Organization of Iran, also being the most avant-garde architectural firm which started a new chapter in architecture and urban design.
Thirty years ago, he established the Research Institute and Library of Iranian Studies (RILIS), a non-profit, non-political, private and independent institution dedicated to the promotion of research in the field of Iranian and Persianate studies with special emphasis on novel and creative research.
Borbor is mostly remembered as the father of modern urban planning and design in Iran, his unrealized proposal for the surroundings of the Shrine of Imam Reza is recognized as being an outstanding contribution.
Urban and Regional developments and designs presented by Borbor Consultants in mid-twentieth century are still considered to be among the most comprehensive and advanced plans, constituting an important subject of education and research in universities.
The founding member of the Urban Planning Centre, Shahbaz Ghafoori, who had the honour of being a student of Professor Borbor, accompanied by other members of the Centre wished Good Health, Long Life and Further Future Achievements for him.
